Born in 1985 on Merseyside, James first picked up a guitar at the age of 8. He first performed in primary school to help raise money for the 'Bucket & Spade' appeal. Squib's acid voodoo funk is hypnotic and intoxicating and can shift between straight modal electric jazz and the kind of super-heavy funk-rock that would give Red Hot Chili Peppers cardiac arrest. Whilst many bands claim to be 'impossible to pigeonhole', for Squib this rings true. The closest description they have heard is "filthy dirty eclectic electric hardcore funk-rock-jazz fusion".
