About Us - Bridgnorth Music and Arts Festival 2010

We're now planning the FIFTH Bridgnorth Music and ARTS Festival for 2010 which will take place from Friday 27th August until Sunday 5th September.

Bridgnorth Music & Arts FestivalThis wouldn't have been possible without the hard work and support of many people so a huge thank you to everyone who has helped us to reach this milestone.  Organisers, performers, venues, supporters and audiences, it just keeps on getting better year on year.  In 2006 the former Bridgnorth Folk Festival moved to Shrewsbury leaving a void that was filled by three guys from Highley who wanted to continue with a festival over the August Bank Holiday.  Malcolm, Alan and Mark organised a series of great events including a festival in the High Street and events at venues throughout the area.  The festival committee has changed over the years but we still follow a similar format with a main event in the High Street on the Sunday before August bank holiday Monday, an event on the Quayside on bank holiday Monday and an event in the Castle grounds on the following Saturday.  Plus LOADS of events happening at venues all around the area.

In 2009 we promoted ourselves with the lines "10 Days, 20 Venues, 100's of Artists".  For 2010 we'll be bigger still!

We'd REALLY like to involve more people from the arts as a whole this year and not just music as we've now become an Arts Festival too.  The festival has grown and diversified year on year so for 2010 we've renamed the festival to reflect that.

If you have any ideas for events and can help in any way please contact us and get involved, the more the merrier.  Keep checking back here for the dates of meetings and events that we're running throughout the year.  We've already got some great new events planned including literary, fine arts, photography and gaming events.  There's always room for more!
