Written by Jennifer Bone Monday, 06 September 2010
The Bridgnorth Music & Arts Festival got off to a fantastic start with a fund raising launch event put on by Bambers Resturant. The event included a preview of Gallery Bridgnorth with examples of the participating artists work displayed throughout the restaurant transforming it into a gallery for the duration of the festival.
The launch event was attended by representatives of Bridgnorth's business community, town council, artists and the festivals chosen charities The league of Friends of Bridgnorth Hospital and Macmillan Cancer Support, who were treated to an evening of champagne, delicious canapés and the dulcet tones of local singer songwriter Andy Lester.
Over £200 was raised during the eventing through a fund raising raffle that gave guests the opportunity to win unique items donated to the festival by celebrities such as Kevin Spacey, Sir Terry Wogan and children's author Lynne Chapman.
"It's wonderful to see the businesses of Bridgnorth and the local community working together to support the festival and it's chosen charities this year and we look forward to building on this success in the future" said festival director Westley Bone.
