Gallery Bridgnorth Review
Written by Jennifer Bone Thursday, 09 September 2010
Gallery Bridgnorth brought together the towns businesses and local artists to bring quality art to Bridgnorth town centre throughout the 10 days of the Bridgnorth Music & Arts Festival 2010. Despite being a part of the festival for the first time, Gallery Bridgnorth has made a great contribution to the arts economy of the town with over 20% of participating artists making sales or achieving commissions as a direct result of taking part. Like Kathy O'Conner, a local photographer whose stunning photographs of Bridgnorth town achieved here several sales throughout the festival. Gallery Bridgnorth supported local businesses through featuring participating shops in an arts trail that encouraged visitors to the town to visit all the shops on the trail to view the art work. This in turn has been a great way of promoting local businesses to Bridgorth visitors during the festival.
In line with the ethos of the festival, the artists all agreed to donate 10% of the sale price of their art to the Bridgnorth Festival to help its chosen charities, the League of Friends of Bridgnorth Hospital and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Gallery Bridgnorth will be back next year with even more local artists and shops taking part!
Work shown here is Tree of a Life - Lazy by Bone.
