Review: Urban Exploration day long Electronic Music Festival in 2011

Urban Exploration - six amazing electronic music producers from Leeds travelled down to Bridgnorth to take part in the first full day of electronic music at the Festival on Saturday September 3rd in 2011, which took place at The New Inn through the day and Bar 27 in the evening.
The afternoon began with individual sets and built up to a six piece live electronic improvisation, amazing to see six perfomers at this level all working together as a single unit, creating a breathe-taking, multi-layered, constantly evolving soundscape. The evening at Bar 27 was slightly more uptempo than the afternoon from the off and a brilliant night from start to finish, with full on DJ and live sets. You have to catch Headcleaner live to fully appreciate his live improvisation with his custom built analogue synth and sequencer set up. The night ended on an awesome set of Birmingham Techno classics from Chris Kubex too. The all day electronic festival has to become a permanent part of the Bridgnorth Festival in the future and I hope they can all come back and be part of it again in 2012.
I was totally blown away to see electronic music of this quality happening in my home town and it was a real treat to see a whole day of electronic music as part of the festival too. Definitely a long term fixture now and we're already planning the next event for 2012.
